Elite Connector is looking for a Purchasing/Procurement Supervisor for our client in the greater Orlando, FL area. This person will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Shared Service Procurement Team. Responsible for the negotiation, placement and expedite of purchase orders for goods and services consistent with company cost, quality, and delivery objectives. Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Insure all submitted requisitions and expedite requests are assigned to team members dailyThis role is fully on-site.Coordinate and/or attend meetings to address Procurement needs or assistanceProvide guidance concerning negotiation strategy to Procurement team (6), as neededReview current processes for productivity improvements and create implementation planReview quotes, analyze results and determine negotiation plans / strategies as well as addressing any exceptions to flow downs, specifications, quality notes or our client's terms and conditions requirements. Utilize sound negotiation and analysis skills to reduce overall costsResearch alternative sources in order to solicit competitive bidsAdapt to constantly changing work assignments and consistently make timely decisions. Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up-like atmosphereAble to deploy a systematic approach to work and have an aptitude for performing work functions in a timely and well-organized manner with limited oversightCoordinate partnerships with both domestic and international suppliers and other value-added activities to support company needs and expectations. Proactively seek and lead innovative ways to ensure the most favorable prices, discounts, bids, and termsNegotiate and settle with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over shipments, cancellations and engineering changesContact suppliers to expedite deliveries, resolve shortages and follow up on late deliveriesDevelop/Maintain a cost savings program to support year over year savings of 3-5%Train all new Purchasing staffEnsure ECO's are effectively implemented including supplier communication and PO updatesCalculate monthly OTD vendor ratings and work with underperforming suppliers to improve scorecardInsure the accuracy of purchased item data and planning parameters driving the ERP system (Expandable ERP)Execute pushouts, pull-ins and cancellations per Site requirementsSupport purchasing tasks related to indirect materials and servicesWork cross-functionally to support internal goals and complete projects as needed

Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirementsMaintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules keeping work area in a clean and orderly conditionParticipate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policiesPerform other related duties as assigned
Education/Experience:Degree from a fully accredited college or university in a related field or at least five years directly applicable experienceMinimum of five years’ experience in materials related field, preferably electronics as a Buyer or equivalentMUST have experience supervising a teamMUST have experience developing new processes and procedures for implementationMUST have experience collecting and reporting on KPI's to managementMUST be strong in Procurement (strategic)
