Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop mechanical systems and components, particularly in the turbomachinery domain (compressors, turbines, pumps, etc.), utilizing CAD software and general engineering design practicesApply design for manufacturability and assembly principles to ensure long-term product viabilityConstructing Free Body Diagrams and performing hand calculations as needed for stress/strain/thermal growth/etc.Review structural analyses, including stress, modal, harmonic, rotordynamic, and thermal analyses, on components and assemblies in support of trade studies and to ensure application requirements are met. Ability to conduct such analyses is a plusReview turbomachinery support systems, such as lubrication and seal systems. Ability to design such systems is a plusCollaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including Project Managers, Aero Engineers, Test Engineers, and Manufacturing teams, to ensure design feasibility and manufacturabilitySupport design validation and product development through product validation testing, test data analysis, and implementation of product improvements based on lessons learned through testing and field operationParticipate in design reviews and contribute to product development from concept through production and aftermarket supportDevelop comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, best practices, and reportsAssist with Root Cause investigations to diagnose issues with machinery and make recommendations for corrective actionQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
