Position: Air Import ForwarderLocation: Milwaukee, WIPay: 60-80k
A Freight Forwarder Air Import is responsible for managing the importation and exportation of goods by air, including all aspects of the logistics process such as carrier booking, cargo tracking, documentation, and communication with customers and third-party service providers. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to manage relationships with customers and ensure their satisfaction.
Duties And ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the importation of goods by air, including carrier booking and managing the movement of goods through various transportation channelsPrepare and process required documentation for customs clearance, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of ladingTrack and monitor shipments, providing regular updates to customers on the status of their shipmentsManage relationships with customers, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any concerns or issues that may ariseCollaborate with other internal departments, such as logistics, finance, and operations, to ensure timely and efficient service deliveryEnsure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade lawsAll other duties as assigned
Educational Background / Work ExperienceMinimum 3 years of freight forwarding experienceExperience in air imports is highly desirable

Mathematical SkillsAbility to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and ratesOther SkillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environmentFunction / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / ProcessesKnowledge of air freight logistics and customs regulationsUnderstanding of trade laws and regulationsLanguage SkillsFluency in EnglishKnowledge of additional languages is a plusComputer LiteracyMinimum 1 year of Cargo wise experienceProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with logistics software and systems is preferred
