Janssen & Spaans Engineering (JSE) is looking for a
Civil Engineer Project Manager – Road Designer
to join our team! The successful candidate will assist senior engineers and mentor less experienced team members by providing engineering excellence, plan, identify, prioritize, track and monitor tasks and sequences in the process to produce the desired outcome. They will serve as a liaison between business, technical disciplines, and sub consultants on projects and track design progress throughout the life of the project. These responsibilities include but are not limited to: Scheduling, Employee engagement, producing Cost Effective designs on time and under budget, and Evaluate Quality of Performance.The ideal candidate will have over ten (10) years’ experience in Civil Engineering or related field and will be a licensed PE in the state of Indiana. Roadway projects include but are not limited to: Interstates, Highways, and Freeways, Urban Streets, Intersections including Roundabouts, and Interchange Layout.
Job Description:Design-Build and P3 projectsEnsure final civil designs, including road and hydraulic designs, are complete and accuratePrepare project cost estimates, list quantities for project supplies, and ensure deadlines and cost targets are metDevelop project specifications, documents, and reports according to client requirementsUpdate JSE project database as new project information presents itselfSupervise and train technicians, PEs, and Sr. PEsSet up project schedules, including planning of billable work hoursConduct team project meetings (as required)Review team submittal documents prior to submittalsEstablish and maintain client relationsServe as a liaison between business, technical disciplines, and sub consultants on projectsCreate road designs and modeling using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, GeoPak, InRoad, GuideSIGN, and/or AutoTURNTravel (typically local as required)Design, upholding INDOT and AASHTO design, and JSE QC manual requirements and design standards
Desired Skills and Experience:Bachelor of Science or master’s degree in civil engineering (Required)10+ Years experience in related Civil Engineering field (Required)Professional Engineer license in Indiana (Required)Design-Build and P3 experience (Required)Adept with Autocad, Civil 3D, MicroStation, BIM, GeoPak, InRoad, GuideSIGN, and/or AutoTURN (Required)Competent application of AASHTO and DOT standards (Required)Strong communication skills and capability to work autonomously and in a team environmentDepartment of Transportation project experience (Preferred)Excellent organizational and time management skillsEfficient analysis and critical thinking with capability to identify and manage riskAbility to establish, influence, and maintain relationships with key partners
