Due to our business's continued growth and expansion, we are seeking qualified candidates for the Instrument & Electrical (I&E) Designer position based in our Houston, Texas, office. The applicant will develop discipline project engineering estimates, lead a team of designers working on multiple projects, and manage single discipline projects.
The Instrument and Electrical (I&E) Designer will work with our design team in the Houston, Texas office.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Designer for I/E discipline with the ability to work independently.Design modifications of new and existing control systems, instrumentation, and low to medium-voltage power systemsProvide I/E discipline leadership for assigned projects.Provide technical support, clarification, and interpretation of task, code, and standard requirements for all I/E design and drafting activities.Review assigned project discipline deliverables for technical quality, accuracy, and compliance with Client standards.Prepare project scope documents and installation standards.Providing estimates for engineering work.Reviewing and approving vendor documentsPerforming installation cost estimates.Providing construction support during installation when necessary.
Qualifications and Requirements:Minimum five years of Instrument and Electrical related experience (design, maintenance, or construction).Experience leading an I&E design team to achieve project deliverables.Project design experience in petrochemical and/or refinery.Degree in Instrument/Electrical curriculum a plus.Any drafting/design and related coursework.Team player able to work effectively with other disciplines for successful completion of projects.Excellent written/verbal communication skills are a must.Comfortable with fast-paced work environment. Quick learner.Able to balance priorities and meet deadlines.Take ownership of discipline design and be proactive in problem solving.Safety and detail focused.Adherence to quality, safety, schedule, and budgetAutoCAD or MicroStation experience.3D Modeling experience.Experience with the FEL stage gate process.Experience developing FEL Total Installed Cost (TIC) estimate packages.Strong business acumen and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.High ethical standards, integrity, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
