Role OverviewThis Early Stage Startup is on the hunt for an experienced Backend/Data Specialist to join our core team. In this role, you’ll work in partnership with the Initiator, building expandable systems and data workflows that will power our iOS application. You’ll play a leading role in architecting the backend that brings AI and social networking to life, laying the groundwork for seamless and insightful user experiences.
What You’ll Bring to the Team?? 5+ years’ expertise in server-side engineering, with proficiency in Python/NodeJS.?? Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment—bonus points for previous startup or founder experience!?? Hands-on expertise with cloud solutions (e.g., GCP, AWS) to support large-scale, efficient backend operations.??? Experience with both non-SQL and SQL databases to design robust data systems.?? REST and GraphQL API mastery with a solid grasp of modular services systems.
Extra Powers (Preferred Skills)?? Familiarity with Tecton, Metaflow, or MLflow for data processing flows and machine learning workflows (experience with Luigi or Airflow also welcome).?? Exposure to native iOS development and an understanding of social platform mechanics.?? Experience architecting social networking features or related platforms.
Day-to-Day Adventures?? Build expandable backend frameworks that empower our mobile-focused application.?? Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline data flow and ensure high integration quality.?? Optimize data foundation for real-time data analysis, user behavior insights, and performance monitoring.?? Safeguard backend stability, security, and efficiency for an effortless user experience on iOS.?? Participate in peer coding assessments and architecture discussions, driving best practices and technical quality across the board.

Base salary of $125k - $195k, plus equity
