Overview
ESI is seeking a
Senior Construction Project Estimator
to join our team in Kennesaw, Georgia. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management and/or a minimum of ten years of experience in project estimating for steam and power generation projects. ESI typically performs projects on an EPC (Engineer, Procure, Construction) basis. Project estimating includes capturing all costs of the project including actual construction costs for the specific project location. The ideal candidate would have experience working for an engineering and construction firm performing the project estimate of EPC Projects in the $50+ million range.
Senior Construction Project Estimator
Responsibilities:Generate detailed project estimates for ESI’s Proposals capturing all costs of the project including commodity costs, installation hours, rental equipment such as crane costs, and reviewing the constructability of the projectPerform project estimation for 4-6 core projects per year totaling $300+ million plus multiple smaller projectsCollaborate with engineering, project management, and project control leads during the estimating processDevelop material take-offs for concrete, structural steel, piping, and electrical systemsDevelop Request For Proposal (RFP) specifications and bid packages for suppliers and subcontractorsEvaluate all specifications and proposals to ensure estimates are complete and provide the most cost effective yet reliable option to meet the client’s requirementsParticipate in estimate reviews with management and customersVisit jobsites to obtain or confirm project specifics to ensure an accurate estimateTrack and evaluate data from current and previous projects for use in future estimates
Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, and/or commensurate estimating experienceMinimum of ten years of experience in EPC Project Estimating for steam and power or heavy industrial projectsExperience estimating projects in the $50+ million rangeKnowledge of steam and power generation systems including combined and rankine cycle cogeneration using fossil fuels, biomass, RNG, hydrogen, and plant waste projects is a plusExperience pricing the installation of pumps, fans, material handling systems, boilers and pressure parts, heat exchangers, air pollution control equipment, steam turbine generators, combustion turbines, and reciprocating enginesKnowledge of the construction process, construction estimating principles, sequences and practicesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate and complete estimatesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient with ExcelWillingness to learn and establish proficiency with InEight Construction Estimating Software
