What’s the Opportunity?Anchor QEA is seeking a full-time, senior level engineer for our Horsham, Pennsylvania office to support our growing local and regional teams with projects related to sediment remediation and coastal engineering. The ideal applicant will have 8-15 years of experience involving engineering design including site investigation and data collection, construction drawings and specifications, cost estimating, project and task management, and construction oversight. Experience with sediment remediation and waterfront projects including remedial investigation and design, dredging, capping, stream restoration, confined disposal facilities, beneficial reuse, beach nourishment, wetland construction, coastal design or other aspects of work within streams, rivers, lakes, or coastal regions is preferred. Project experience with geotechnical engineering evaluations related to sediments a plus. Knowledge of local regulatory requirements is desired. Experience with using CAD or GIS for site planning, design, calculations, and oversight is a plus.

Responsibilities:Serves as the engineer supporting development and design for projects involving dredging, capping, stream restoration, confined disposal facilities, beneficial reuse, beach nourishment, wetland construction, or coastal design concepts.Leads engineering planning and design including, but not limited to, concept designs, alternative studies, basis of design requirements, construction drawings, technical reports and specifications, and construction cost estimatesProvides technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineersCoordinates with geotechnical, coastal, and dredging engineers, planners, and biologistsManages team and coordinates with client’s project manager and/or technical staffDevelop client relationships, lead proposals, and contribute to the sales process.Analyzes complex problems and develops value-engineered solutionsLeads the preparation and coordination of project deliverables including construction documentsEnsures that work products are prepared in accordance with Anchor QEA’s quality management programAbility to travel for field site visits and project meetings in various US locationsParticipate in construction support activities including review of contractor requests for information and submittals and oversight of construction activities

What Are We Looking For?Ideal candidates will have the following:BS or MS degree in relevant engineering field (civil, environmental, geotechnical)8 to 15 years of relevant work experience as a Coastal, Environmental, Remediation, or Civil EngineerExperience with coastal engineering and flood resiliency design projects and concepts.Experience with in-water and upland remediation sites, including the planning and implementation of sampling, data analysis, feasibility studies, and remedial design. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in contaminated sediments, including capping and dredging remediation projects.Strong understanding of the application of engineering principles to engineering design, including cost estimating, development of plans and specifications, development of bid packages, development of dredge plans, and overseeing design implementation in the field (i.e., construction oversight and management).A Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure within two years.Project Management experience, including experience managing small to mid-level projects.Proficiency in MS Office.AutoCAD Civil 3D experience a plus.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.Willingness to occasionally travel for field projects or client meetings.
