BIM / VDC Specialist | Interior GC - NY

Job Description:We are seeking a highly experienced BIM/Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Coordinator with a strong background in HVAC coordination and mechanical engineering to join our team in Midtown Manhattan. The BIM/VDC Specialist will play a critical role in advancing our BIM and VDC capabilities, with a focus on interior construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:HVAC Layout and Coordination: Utilize hands-on experience from working with an HVAC subcontractor to coordinate HVAC systems for efficient layouts in interior projects.BIM and VDC Expertise: Proficiency in CAD and Revit to create, modify, and manage BIM models.Expertise in Navisworks for 3D coordination, clash detection, and QA/QC compliance for mechanical, plumbing, and sprinkler systems.3D Scanning and Point Clouds: Leverage experience in 3D scanning technology to capture accurate as-built conditions and work with point clouds for precise project modeling.Field and Office Coordination: Maintain a blend of field and office experience to effectively manage BIM/VDC-related tasks.Collaborate with on-site teams and communicate with stakeholders in the office to ensure project success.Procore BIM Tools: Utilize Procore BIM tools to streamline project collaboration, documentation, and communication.BIM Project Execution Plans: Develop and implement BIM Project Execution Plans to ensure BIM processes align with project objectives and standards.

Qualifications:A minimum of 3+ years of experience in BIM/VDC coordination, with a significant portion of that time spent in the field working on HVAC systems.Mechanical engineering background and strong knowledge of mechanical systems.Proficiency in CAD and Revit for BIM modeling.Extensive experience with Navisworks for 3D coordination and clash detection.Knowledge of 3D scanning and point cloud technology.Previous experience in heavy mechanical, plumbing, and sprinkler 3D coordination.Familiarity with Procore BIM tools.Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Education:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
