Our client is looking for a senior attorney to lead its litigation team and oversee all aspects of litigation.
As
Lead Counsel, Litigation , you will manage litigation for the company serving as a subject matter expert on litigation strategy and coordinate with others within the legal department who serve as subject matter experts on the laws and regulations impacting Client's business and operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESThis role will be based in the Client’s LA office and will work closely with the Client’s General Counsel, other legal team members and cross functionally to advise on litigation and risk strategy relating to the activities of the company.
Responsibilities may include:Manage a portfolio disputes of various size and complexity;Drive case strategy for a full caseload, managing outside counsel as appropriate to align to such strategy;Manage an overall litigation budget for outside counsel fees and settlement to provide effective solutions to accomplish Client's goals;Utilize various tools to manage caseload, that includes reporting, status updates and other features to ensure efficient and timely handling of all threatened or filed actions against Client;Engage directly with Client's business, legal and compliance teams regarding Client's business and operations as necessary to respond to threatened or filed actions;Manage all aspects of case management including docketing deadlines, maintaining case files, scheduling, billing and providing reminders as necessary;Work with business partners to recommend non-monetary settlement operational activities and identify any root cause issues increasing litigation;Manage collection, review and synthesis of records from key stakeholders for the Litigation files;Oversee, coordinate and finalize responses to information requests and third-party subpoenas or search warrants;Review, summarize and prepare legal documents, including but not limited to, responses to attorney demand letters, indemnification letters and settlement agreements;Manage litigation activities, including tracking reporting, document management, and analyzing and drafting responses at the state and federal level;Maintain a Litigation Contact List with key stakeholders;Work with other members of the Legal team as well as other company functional departments;Design, develop, and implement or improve systems and processes to increase efficiency, support scalability, and ensure quality.
“MUST HAVE” QUALIFICATIONSJ.D. from top law school required along with strong academic track record;7 to 12 years of combined relevant experience within a top law firm and in-house experience;Demonstrable experience managing litigation docket strategy;Demonstrably strong and broad civil, commercial litigation experience3+ years of training at an AmLaw100 or TOP boutique strongly preferredExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal);Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, well organized, and proven ability to multi-task;Able to work well under pressure in a fast paced environmentMust be a self-starter, independent worker and quick learner
