Pastry Sous Chef!

Responsibilities:

Manage production schedules to meet demand while minimizing waste and maintaining quality standards.Sustain optimal food costs via procurement oversight and waste reduction.Showcase inventive baking methods encompassing preparation, melting, measuring, tempering, baking, whipping, icing, layering, juicing, and decorating.Verify menu planning and requisites, contribute to conversations on new pastry items, considering seasonal ingredients, market trends, and customer preferences.Guarantee adherence among pastry team members.Enforce strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper handling and storage of ingredients, equipment sanitation, and cleanliness of work areas, as outlined in the food safety management system handbook.Address any issues or challenges that arise in the pastry kitchen promptly and effectively, ensuring smooth operations.Promptly report any food safety concerns to management and the hygiene and food safety team.Supervise pastry team members, providing guidance, training, and motivation to maintain high standards of performance and productivity.Ensure that all pastry products meet quality and presentation standards before they are served to customers.Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely replenishment.Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and innovations in pastry arts, and implement best practices to enhance the pastry department's performance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in culinary arts preferred. Possession of a certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years’ experience running a successful Pastry/Bakery kitchen, with extensive production volume, ensuring high-quality products, efficient operations, and customer satisfaction.Profound understanding of baking ingredients, precise measuring techniques, diverse mixing methods, proficient operation of kitchen equipment, and optimal baking durations.Experience overseeing a team of at least 3 members.Familiarity with the latest trends in the catering industry is a plus.

What We Offer:
