Job DescriptionYour Career

Palo Alto Networks runs a large infrastructure and is one of the largest GCP customers. As a Senior Staff DevOps Engineer for the Cloud Manager team, you will be part of a team supporting the services running on this infrastructure. This includes automation, architecture, performance, observability, troubleshooting, security, and reliability.

Our Infrastructure Platform stack includes Terraform, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, GitOps, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Docker, GCP, Backstage, MySQL, PagerDuty, FireHydrant, Python, Bash, Java, NodeJS and Go.

QualificationsYour Experience

6+ years as an engineer in Infrastructure, Operations, DevOps, or System Engineering4+ years building high availability, scalable cloud-native applications on AWS or GCPBS or MS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience or equivalent military experience requiredExpertise in public cloud, preferably GCPExpertise in configuration management with a framework such as Ansible, Terraform, HelmExperience in Site Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering, or DevOpsPassion for infrastructure and monitoring as codeSolid experience in container workloads and KubernetesFamiliarity with PKI concepts, Networking conceptsLinux administration, internals, and network troubleshootingProficiency with programming languages like Golang or Python along with shell scripting to automate tasksProficiency with CI/CD pipelines,GitOps principles and the knowledge of GitLab Runners is a plusAbility to diagnose and troubleshoot complex distributed systems handling high volume transactionsExcellent written and verbal communication, able to collaborate and rally supportSelf-disciplined, self-managed, self-motivated and strong sense of ownership, urgency, and driveReady to understand and dissect new technology stacks quickly

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $147000 - $237500/YR. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
