Position Summary:The Senior Director, Development holds a central role in the philanthropic landscape of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Development, this seasoned leader is entrusted with executing sophisticated cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies that drive substantial results in the Annual Campaign, Targeted Gifts, and Planned Giving initiatives. The Senior Director's role also includes managing a team of fundraising professionals and one administrative support professional.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Oversee the development and execution of 2-3 managed fundraising campaigns or initiatives (including major gifts, annual campaign, and transformational fundraising).Lead a high performance development team, including setting goals, providing mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and results-driven team culture.Cultivate relationships with donors, ensuring effective stewardship and long-term engagement. Identify new prospects and develop tailored cultivation strategies.Serve as a professional partner to lay leadership, developing and implementing strategies to engage, train and support a team of lay leader ambassadors to enhance donor cultivation and stewardship efforts.Collaborate with other departments to integrate a culture of philanthropy into overall strategies.Provide strategic oversight for team fundraising programs and events, ensuring they align with organizational goals.Represent Federation at community and donor events, building strong partnerships and deepening relationships with attendees.Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Success Factors:Bachelor’s degree requiredSeven or more years’ experience in fundraising or non-profit experience, leadership role preferred.Proven track record of success in securing major gifts and managing high performing development teams.Strong understanding of fundraising strategies and donor relations.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.Strategic thinking with the ability to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies.Ability to inspire and motivate a team.Proficiency in fundraising software and database management.Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership, board members, and volunteers.High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to Federation's mission.Knowledge of the local, Jewish community preferred.Model a personal commitment to the Jewish community and Jewish values; ability to ground relationships with donors and prospective donors in Jewish culture and values.Must be able to pass Level 1 background check.Must maintain valid Florida driver’s license.Must be able to work off-shift hours including nights and weekends, as needed.Must be able to work a minimum of ten (10) events annually.
Work Environment:Position is eligible to work from home

When working from home, employee must:Follow all Federation policies and procedures,Be available to other employees during Federation’s normal business hours,Not work from a public place (e.g., coffee shop, library, etc.) and/or join a public, unsecure wi-fi network when working with sensitive or confidential information,Coordinate with IT department to maintain appropriate computer equipment and connectivity.
Pay Rate:We benchmark our salary ranges for new hires in relation to the role, level, and role location; however, we consider a multitude of factors, to include relevant experience, skills, and education/training, to determine compensation within the identified range.
