manufacturing facility.
THE CANDIDATEAs a Process/Injection Molding Engineer you’ll be responsible for the understanding of Critical to Quality (CTQ) requirements for Medical Device sub-components while playing a crucial role in designing and validating highly capable manufacturing processes. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams, external customers, and suppliers to ensure a seamless transition of manufacturing processes from New Product Introduction and Development (NPID) into Operations. Your work will ensure our products meet stringent requirements and maintain the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
THE POSITIONKey Responsibilities:Work with approved mold builders to develop molds, tooling, fixtures, and equipment. Provide detailed progress reports to Team Leaders and Customers.Oversee the development of molds, tooling, processes, and equipment from customer order placement through start-up, process development, first article approval, capability approval, and initial Production Qualification runs.Partner with Quality Control and Quality Assurance departments, as well as internal and external customers, to develop inspection methods, sampling plans, and validation activities based on CTQ requirements.Stay current with the latest developments in the plastics molding industry through trade magazines, trade shows, supplier visits, technical training, and conferences.Assess quotations from subcontractors and equipment suppliers to ensure alignment with project scope and CTQ requirements.Work with marketing and sales teams to provide engineering and technical services related to tooling and mold design, as well as estimating manufacturing costs.Ensure processes delivered to Operations meet quotation parameters regarding cycle time, scrap rates, labor requirements, cavitation, capacity, and quality requirements.Analyze, understand, and document all risks associated with new products and processes.Estimate and implement design modifications to ensure efficient production tooling and processes.Evaluate piece price and tooling costs of manufacturing products.Provide technical expertise and assistance to other departments as needed.
THE CANDIDATEPosition Requirements:Must have a minimum of 3-5 yrs. Experience in a Process Engineering position specifically in injection MoldingBilingual in English/Spanish necessary.Proficient in computer skills, including spreadsheet, word processing, and electronic mail systems.Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent experience
