Company Overview:Our client, a leading third-party provider of electrical testing and maintenance services, is seeking a skilled NETA Technician to join their team. The company specializes in delivering comprehensive commissioning, preventative maintenance, and testing services to a wide range of industries, including utilities, commercial, industrial, and renewable energy sectors.
Position Overview:The NETA Technician will be responsible for performing testing, inspections, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment at client facilities. As a seasoned professional in electrical testing, the NETA will work independently and as part of a team to ensure systems are safe, reliable, and fully operational. This role requires advanced technical expertise and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:Perform electrical testing, inspection, and troubleshooting of medium and high voltage systems, including circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, relays, and protective equipment.Conduct preventive maintenance and commissioning activities in accordance with NETA standards.Interpret and apply industry codes and standards (e.g., NETA, IEEE, ANSI, NEC) to ensure compliance and safety.Analyze test results, prepare detailed reports, and provide recommendations for repairs or improvements.Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all work performed, including test results and maintenance records.Assist in the calibration, installation, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment.Ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe manner and in compliance with OSHA and company safety protocols.Work directly with clients to communicate findings and provide technical support as needed.Participate in training programs and stay current on industry developments and best practices.
Qualifications:NETA Certification
(National Electrical Testing Association or equivalent).Experience in electrical testing and maintenance, with expertise in testing systems such as transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protective relays.Strong knowledge of electrical testing equipment, including power analyzers, insulation resistance testers, and multi-meters.Thorough understanding of electrical systems, drawings, and schematics.Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including NETA, IEEE, NEC, and OSHA.Ability to interpret test results and generate detailed, professional reports.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues effectively.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently.Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various job sites within the Greater Los Angeles Area.OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification (preferred).
Physical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry testing equipment up to 50 pounds.Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including confined spaces and at heights.Ability to stand, bend, and crouch for extended periods of time.
