Position Overview:The Vice President of Technology will be responsible for all technology initiatives at Quantum. This includes (1) establishing & driving alignment around Quantum’s overarching technology strategy (2) gathering requirements and leading the procurement and implementation of critical software systems (e.g., ERP, HR/Payroll platform), (3) managing the buildout of our proprietary operations platform: Quantum Operating System (QOS), (4) leading our M365 migration and establishing best-in-class document management policies, (5) ensuring the seamless integration of IT systems across newly acquired operating companies, and (6) ensuring the protection of sensitive data by implementing the latest cybersecurity technologies.
The effective use of technology is a critical element of Quantum’s vision of “providing quality craftsmanship down to the Quantum level.” A shared data ecosystem and tailor-made software systems will be essential if we are to drive standard processes across our business, successfully integrate newly acquired companies, improve employee productivity, safety, and well-being, and achieve revenue and profitability targets. As the VP of Technology, you will hold ultimate accountability for ensuring that Quantum is effectively employing technology toward these objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish and drive Quantum’s overarching technology strategyProcure and implement critical software systems and ensure that Operating Company (OpCo) leaders are involved in the process to foster buy-in and successful adoptionManage M365 migration, document policies, and shared data ecosystemOversee the development and integration of Quantum’s proprietary platform (QOS) on the Microsoft Power Apps platformLead cybersecurity initiatives to safeguard data and systemsParticipate in the diligence phase of acquisitions to assess IT integration requirementsEnsure successful IT integration of acquired companiesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.10+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership roles, ideally within the construction, mechanical contracting, or other field service industries.Experience in private equity-backed environments or other fast-paced, acquisition-focused companies, with demonstrated experience in successfully integrating IT systems across multiple companies.Proven track record in IT strategy development, including enterprise software procurement, implementation, and management of critical software systems (e.g., ERP, HR/Payroll, data lakes).Skills RequiredTechnical Expertise: Proficiency in enterprise IT systems, especially Microsoft 365, Power Apps, ERP, and HR platforms, with a strong grasp of IT architecture, cloud infrastructure, data management, and cybersecurity.Project & Change Management: Proven ability to lead large-scale tech migrations, custom software development, preferably in building or overseeing the development of proprietary platforms, and platform integration, with a focus on change management.Leadership & Communication: Strategic leader with excellent communication skills, adept at engaging stakeholders, guiding operational teams, and executing IT integration in acquisition scenarios.
