The Highlights:
Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Finance & Real Estate, the coordinator leads the planning and execution of the various activities for the Holland Initiative for Women and the various boards including the Finance Advisory Board. The coordinator helps the various Center Directors within the Department in their activities and assists the Department Chair in the day-to-day operations of the Department.
What You'll Do:
Coordinator for the Holland Initiative for Women: organizing training workshops (such as etiquette training, excel/Bloomberg training); identifying alumni/student mentors; bringing in external speakers from the Finance Advisory Board (FAB), other Boards within the Department, and from external organizations; arranging for company site visits; and building a network of external partners for the Holland Initiative.Liaison with the Finance Advisory Board and other boards: the coordinator assists the Department Chair with any FAB-related activities and in expanding, maintaining, and managing the membership of the FAB and of the other boards.Assists with the activities/events of the various Centers in the Department: the coordinator helps the various Centers/Directors in organizing conferences/events, and works with external constituents in support of the programs and initiatives of the centers.Assists the Department Chair with the day-to-day departmental operations.Work with the department chair to determine the budget for various events, track expenses, and understand the budget. Cost-conscious management of budgets, including adherence to budgetary guidelines, negotiating services and fees, managing vendor relationships, and invoicing.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree required.Two to four years of related experience as a coordinator of project management and events, preferably in an academic or non-profit setting.Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills.Ability to develop and form relationships with external constituents.Experience with organizing activities and managing events.Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, database management, and social media platforms.Some events may require evening hours.
