A law firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Los Angeles office. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in both state and federal environmental laws, including experience with environmental compliance, litigation, enforcement, and transactions. This role requires exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills, as well as the ability to manage complex environmental matters. The attorney will represent clients involved with sites requiring remedial action under federal and state laws, particularly CERCLA. Candidates must be self-driven, personable, and have excellent academic and professional credentials.Key Responsibilities:Litigation and Representation:Represent clients in environmental litigation and enforcement matters involving state and federal environmental statutes and regulations.Environmental Compliance:Provide counsel on environmental compliance and regulations, including analysis of state and federal statutory requirements related to client projects.Transaction Support:Advise on environmental aspects of transactions, including due diligence, risk management, and regulatory implications.Remediation Management:Oversee the representation of clients involved in sites requiring remedial action under state and federal laws, particularly CERCLA.Legal Research and Writing:Conduct thorough legal research, draft legal documents, pleadings, briefs, and memoranda, and develop litigation strategies.Client Relations:Manage client relationships and communicate regularly to provide updates on case status, compliance matters, and regulatory changes.Collaboration:Work closely with partners and associates in a collaborative team environment, contributing to case strategy and development.Qualifications and Requirements:Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in environmental litigation and environmental law.
Licensure:
Admission to practice law in California is required.
Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of federal and state environmental laws, with specific experience in CERCLA, environmental compliance, and enforcement.
Skills:
Strong legal research and writing abilities.Exceptional analytical skills to evaluate the applicability of environmental laws to complex client matters.Ability to manage and oversee cases involving environmental remediation.
