Associate Data Engineer
to contribute to the design, build and maintenance of automated data pipelines and analytics systems at Inclusiv. This role supports the timely delivery of data and analytics to both Inclusiv staff and its credit union members, who use this data to help low- and moderate-income people and communities achieve financial independence through credit unions.Under the direction of the Director of Data Analytics, the
Associate Data Engineer
will maintain and contribute to the development of Inclusiv’s critical data infrastructure, as well as support enterprise data analysis and reporting workflows across Inclusiv. An ideal candidate has strong SQL skills and experience with data warehousing concepts, familiarity with complex data integration, and possess a keen interest in data analysis. While we want all our team members to have familiarity with all aspects of ELT, we welcome specialists who may be more experienced on either the data engineering or analytics engineering side.The ideal candidate should live within commuting distance of an Inclusiv office and be able to work on-site in the local office in compliance with Inclusiv’s hybrid work schedule (2 days in-office, 3 days remote).Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and implementation of data warehousing structures that support data analysis and reporting workflows.Deploy and maintain infrastructure as code for databases (e.g. Snowflake) and data products following best practices from software engineering.Design and implement complex pipelines to integrate data coming from a mix of APIs, flat files, or other database sources, especially sources to support new features for Inclusiv’s Financial Inclusion Data Analytics Platform (FIDAP).Help implement code testing, continuous integration, and deployment strategies to ensure system reliability. This includes managing git repositories and keeping software on the latest or most appropriate versions.Develop and improve internal tools and systems to efficiently deliver high-quality, actionable metrics.Work collaboratively within a team of create analytics solutions that are scalable, easy to maintain, and support high quality analyses and reports.Explore and apply new cutting-edge tools to drive innovation across a variety of projects.QualificationsBachelor’s degree or 2-3 years of work experience in lieu of a degree; master’s degree a plus.Passion for community development and bringing technology to improving financial access to underserved communitiesExperience architecting cloud-based data warehouse and data lake structures that are intuitive and performant.Hands-on experience with AWS and leveraging its services.Fluency in SQL, experience with Python and Linux.Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining modern ELT pipelines with a clean codebase, using tools such as dbt or Airflow.Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitLab.Knowledge of data engineering best practices, particularly in team-based development using Git.Ability to proactively identify and defend against potential data quality & processing issues.Love for collaborating and working with people in understanding data needs as well as scoping and executing on projects.Strong collaborative development experience (e.g., PR reviews, documentation), especially in collaboration with vendors or contractors.Have authorization to work in the U.S.To ApplyPlease send a cover letter, resume and salary requirements.
