Overview
Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking a Mid-Level Mechanical Designer to join the Buildings MEP group in Rochester, NY.We provide a full range of mechanical engineering services to municipal, commercial, higher education and public works agencies, partnering with clients to design buildings from the ground-up or to renovate existing buildings to optimize their use. From designing new and renovated systems, to providing both new building commissioning and retro-commissioning services, count on our team to develop a building solution that is both cost-effective and achieves our clients' goals.Our engineers work with clients from concept through construction to create customized, cost-effective solutions that enhance the health, welfare, safety and comfort of building occupants. Our experts are skilled at reducing energy usage while creating comfortable interior environments. We understand sustainability and the importance of ensuring that high performance buildings perform as designed.Our designs emphasize performance and are built with long-term facility operations in mind. Decisions are driven by objective data and in-depth client collaboration.Responsibilities
The following duties are typical of a mechanical designer, but are not all encompassing:Create and assess project designs.Perform calculations with software, spreadsheets, and hand calculations.Create and review mechanical design plans, models and details in Revit and AutoCAD.Perform site visits, make observations of ongoing construction progress, and survey the mechanical components of existing buildings.Coordinate with architects (internal and external), owners, and other engineering disciplines.Review shop drawings and respond to RFI's.Perform quality control related tasks.Be responsive to others and share information and new ideas to improve processes and help achieve company and project goals; listen and engage in productive and critical debate.Attend training seminars and presentations by professional organizations to further design knowledge and develop business skills.Qualifications
6+ years of experience required.AA Degree required.Required to be technical in their field, commercial, office buildings, government buildings and manufacturing facilities.Good communication skills.Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.Compensation: $52,000 to $83,500 per year (depending on qualifications)What We Offer
