This position offers the opportunity for remote or hybrid work depending on experience and autonomy.Duties:Manage cases from inception to resolution, including strategy development, discovery, and settlement negotiation.Represent local governments in litigation, including law and motion practice at both trial and appellate levels.Participate in trial preparation and trial proceedings.Provide legal counsel to city staff and officials regarding compliance with state and local laws.Attend city council and public meetings to offer legal advice and represent the government entity.Engage in community outreach and education on compliance practices and public law regulations.Collaborate with a team of attorneys to ensure effective legal representation and counsel.Requirements:2+ years of experience in municipal law, public law, or related fields.California Bar membership in good standing.Strong research and legal writing skills.Ability to handle all phases of litigation, including trial and appellate work.Strong communication skills and attention to detail.Confidence and ability to represent public entities in front of various stakeholders.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admitted to the California State Bar.Skills:Proficiency in legal research and writing.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.Knowledge of municipal and administrative law is preferred.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.Company info
