The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and adaptability in handling shifting priorities.Duties:Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondenceRepresent clients in court hearings, trials, depositions, and mediationsEngage in negotiations with attorneys, claim representatives, and other parties to resolve casesReview and analyze investigative information to support case strategiesManage electronic case management system updates and ensure compliance with firm proceduresCollaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure timely case managementOversee case preparation, including meeting deadlines and managing due datesInteract with clients, opposing counsel, and witnesses via telephone and in-person meetingsPerform other tasks as needed to support the litigation processRequirements:Licensed to practice law in IndianaAt least 3 years of litigation experience, with a focus on corporate or education law preferredAbility to work independently and manage a fluid schedule with multiple deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with a variety of stakeholdersProficiency with various legal software and tools to improve efficiencyAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to different personalitiesPrevious experience in moot court or other litigation-related activities is highly valuedEducation:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law schoolCertifications:Active member of the Indiana State BarSkills:Critical thinking and problem-solvingStrong organizational abilities and attention to detailComfort with public speaking and courtroom presentationsProficiency in legal research tools and case management softwareExcellent interpersonal skills for client and team interactions
