Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.Patient Diagnoses include Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, Aortic stenosis/regurgitation, Mitral Regurgitation/Stenosis, Endocarditis, Cardiomyopathy, PVD PAD, Vasculitis, Carotid stenosis, Venous stasis, sheath management, sheath removal.Special Procedures / Unit Details include CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman procedure), VATS, Carotid endarterectomy, FEM-POP bypass, Amputations, Other vascular surgeries, Cardiac surgeries, Thoracic surgeries, General thoracic surgery, Post cath, Post DCCV, Post electrophysiology procedures, Pacemaker placements.Special Equipment includes Arterial lines (not required), Doppler, Bladder scanner, EKG, Femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, Chest tubes, Epicardial Pacing Wires.Unit Systems (Medication, Documentation, Communication) include Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR.Scheduling Type is Self.Unit Orientation is 24 hours.Scrubs are Navy.Job Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required. May screen if 1.5 year of CVICU experience in a large facility.Traveler Experience Required UNLESS traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience.Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes.Skills required include Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Sheath Removal, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, Titrate Cardiac drips, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleuravac, External CPAP/BIPAP, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management.Schedule Information
Shift: NIGHTS 36 HOURS ONLY. Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to a specified date to get the unit through the holidays.Float Requirement: Will follow unit rotation - not first to float.Weekend Requirement: 4 per 4 weeks (flexible).Ratios: Varies per Acuity. Ratios are 1:4 for surgical step down, and 1:5-6 for lower acuity.Additional Details
Special information regarding Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team requirements.Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster.Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.
