Our Top diagnoses in order are: respiratory, trauma, suicide/overdose, neuro, infectious, endocrine, GI, non-complex cardiac and occasional critical eating disorders. We do not have complex cardiac patients, renal patients requiring dialysis or chemotherapy. Top interventions are High Flow Nasal Cannula, continuous nebulizer, vents, BiPAP, trach, G tube, pressors, neurological monitoring and other aspects of routine PICU Care
We are a small unit/Children’s hospital located within a community-based hospital with no residents/fellows. We are associated with a comprehensive children’s emergency receiving center and a level II pediatric trauma center. We have intensivists during the day followed by mid-level providers (NPs/PAs) at night (there is 24/7 Hospitalist and Neonatologist). We provide patient and family centered care. Our acuities can fluctuate from very sick to very stable. On average our unit has less acute patients than busier, larger hospitals. We need staff who are comfortable in every situation and have experience taking travel assignments in a variety of types of units. At times, our unit can be very stable, and the traveler needs to be comfortable with that environment. This traveler RN may be only 1 of 2 RNs on per shift (the other RN would be a core staff RN) at times without an immediate MD such as a larger, teaching facility may have.Tact Medical Staffing Job ID #495900.
