A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Restructuring Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join its team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in large transactions with a major law firm and possess strong litigation and transactional skills. This role involves representing debtors, creditors, ad hoc committees, and asset acquirers in restructuring matters.Key Responsibilities
Represent debtors, creditors' committees, ad hoc committees, and asset acquirers in restructuring transactions.Handle unsecured creditors' committees, restructuring support agreements, DIPs, reorganization plans, and exit facilities.Conduct legal research and draft pleadings and briefs.Navigate the Bankruptcy Code and Rules, providing practical and strategic advice.Collaborate with colleagues to manage and execute large transactions.Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and strategic advice.Maintain strong professional relationships and a high level of client service.Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of restructuring experience with a major law firm.Extensive experience in representing debtors, creditors’ committees, ad hoc committees, and asset acquirers.Strong academic credentials with a preference for candidates from top-tier law schools.High proficiency in legal research, drafting pleadings, and briefs.Transactional experience with a solid understanding of accounting and financial issues affecting restructuring transactions.Admission to the New York State Bar or Washington, D.C. Bar (or ability to waive in), as applicable.Excellent writing and oral communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.Education and Certifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the New York State Bar or Washington, D.C. Bar (or ability to waive in).Skills
In-depth knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code and Rules.Proficient in legal research and drafting legal documents.Strong litigation and transactional skills.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to work effectively as part of a team.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build professional relationships.Job Location
