Yours included.The Senior Vice President of Clinical Services (SVP) is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive approach to Boston Children's (BCH) clinical programs. Working through department administrators and in close collaboration with physician leaders, the SVP provides broad strategic direction and is responsible for full operational and budgetary accountability for several of BCH's clinical operations. The SVP also supports the work of the Hospital's clinical departments and their respective Foundations, assisting in their success and keeping them closely aligned with Hospital policy, strategy, and operations. This position will manage three Vice Presidents of Clinical Services and directly oversees satellite operations, ambulatory access and Physician Assistant leadership, with responsibility for budget and revenue for an organization of over 11,000 employees.
This SVP, Clinical Services will:Establish a solid management infrastructure for Children's clinical operations, collaborating with multiple Chiefs of Services and their respective administrators to do so.Take the lead role in developing and monitoring operating goals and objectives.Develop and implement systems of accountability for measuring performance to improve efficiencies for clinical operations - including space utilization.Work to attain clinical program development objectives. Work with Finance, IT, Digital Health, Health Affairs and Marketing departments to develop business models for new clinical initiatives.Develop and execute explicit service criteria against which operational effectiveness can be measured.Implement the strategic and business planning process for relevant operating departments.Play a key role in the optimization of the satellites in Waltham, Lexington, Peabody, North Dartmouth and (Jan 2026) Needham. These sites now account for nearly half of the Hospital's patient care volume.Work closely with department chairs and other physicians in the development and implementation of clinical programs and support their academic programs in teaching and research.Ensure that all operations are compliant with all federal and state regulations.Exhibit a genuine commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion - one that engages all employees as valued team membersCollaborates with HR and department leaders to attract and retain the industry's most sought-after talent and guide a high performing team. Clinical training and background strongly preferred.Superb influencing skills and demonstrated capacity to be effective without a great deal of line authority.Strong management skills, including the ability to lead a large, matrixed organization in a collaborative style that is decisive and results-oriented.Strong emotional intelligence.
