The ideal candidate will have experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications, with preferred experience in litigation, opinions, licensing, patent due diligence, and/or trademark. The candidate must hold a degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Science (CS), or Mechanical Engineering (ME), and must be registered with the USPTO. This position requires excellent communication and research skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare and prosecute patent applications.Draft responses to USPTO office actions.Collaborate closely with attorneys for patent preparation and prosecution.Draft instructions to foreign patent agents in response to office actions.Maintain a detailed understanding of products and technical developments.Conduct patentability studies and draft related assessments.Provide technical support for opinions, diligence projects, and litigation.Perform other duties as assigned.Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence efficiently and responsively.Provide timely, accurate, and high-quality work products.Successfully meet deadlines and expectations and perform work duties as required.Foster positive work relationships.Comply with all firm policies and practices.Engage in both physical and sedentary activities, such as working at a computer for extended periods, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as needed.Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.Requirements2-5 years of engineering and/or research experience.Experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications.Preferred experience in litigation, opinions, licensing, patent due diligence, and/or trademark.Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and research skills.Education and CertificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Science (CS), or Mechanical Engineering (ME) required.Master's Degree or similar is desired.Registration with the USPTO.SkillsExcellent legal research and writing skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational skills.Proficiency with legal research databases and technology.
