What The Role IsUnder general supervision, the Mortgage Loan Assistant II is responsible for assisting the Mortgage Loan Originator in the origination of mortgage loans referred from Cadence Bank branch personnel or outside sources. The loans consist of bank referrals and new loan referrals for both refinance and purchase money transactions.
How You will Make an ImpactCounsel and advise borrower(s) on various loan programs.Review application, credit, program guidelines and automated underwriting for completeness and accuracy. Provide disclosures and request and/or gather required documentation from borrower(s) necessary to process credit file for underwriting approval. Collect fees from borrower(s) as required at the appropriate time, i.e. credit report fee, appraisal fee, etc.Order appraisal to determine value of collateral.Work with processor and underwriter to address any underwriting issues necessary to close the loan.Guide borrower(s) through the complex home financing process by working with the Bank Loan Officer, Realtor, appraiser, closing attorney, and other parties involved in the transaction.Monitor/manage pipeline: Meet closing deadlines, submit loan files to Compliance and maintain pipeline accuracy to meet the bank's requirements.
Who You AreThorough understanding of all loan programs and closing costs.Good understanding of all agencies, including but not limited to FHA, VA, FNMA, USDA and portfolio underwriting guidelines.Be able to meet strict time deadlines and work independently under pressure.Detailed oriented and able to follow set guidelines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Be able to multitask and manage a pipeline of loans including meeting closing deadlines, submitting loans to compliance, and making sure their pipeline meets the bank's requirements.Must qualify for NMLS Registration.Minimum 2 years mortgage loan experience.
