Position Summary:

The WMS Consultant is responsible for leading the WMS implementation, and will actively participate in the WMS design, configuration, test the supply chain platform and WMS implementation projects. Serve as the subject matter expert on Manhattan Associates (MA) Warehouse Management System (WMS- ACTIVE), based on an in-depth knowledge of Inbound, Outbound functions and the unique business requirements of the client.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Identify functional requirements of the MA ACTIVE WMS application for retail, ecommerce, and 3PL distribution centers.
  • Collaborate with client’s team during software design process to understand business requirements, business process, workflows, and data maps.
  • Document business requirements, integration requirements, reporting requirements and use cases.
  • Lead implementation from initial project conception through final installation.
  • Works directly with the customer project team (primarily on site) during configuration, testing, training, and implementation phases.
  • Design, configure and Implement Manhattan Associates ACTIVE WMS functions.
  • Assist development teams and facilitate solution design sessions.
  • Analyze and review WMS host Integration mappings and configure the integrations mapping in WMS.
  • Develop design, configuration, standard operating process (SOPs) documents.
  • Develop Test Plans and Test case.
  • Facilitate and support functional and user acceptance testing.
  • Monitor application performance and improve response times.
  • Develop Prototypes/Proof of Concepts using new functionality in WMS.
  • Consistently determine how to maximize business value from WMS.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 2 + years’ experience of Manhattan ACTIVE WMS implementations.
  • Excellent knowledge of supply chain concepts with applications used in warehouse.
  • Understanding of WMS Operations in multi-tenant/multi-client warehouse environment.
  • Experience with WMS Reports/ Supply Chain Intelligence tools.
  • Understanding of Transportation Management and Execution system – Logistyx/ConnectShip
  • Experience with Host - WMS Integration using Manhattan Integration Framework (MIF)
  • Understanding of EDI and integration technologies / methodologies related to WMS systems.
  • Exposure to Warehouse Management system partner technologies like cubiscan, labor management, Time management systems
  • Knowledge of integrating warehouse management systems with other equipment and systems such as MHE (conveyors), Warehouse control systems (WCS), Warehouse Execution systems (WES) and pick-to-light systems etc. is desirable.
  • Experience troubleshooting WMOS applications.
  • Experience working with Supply Chain projects, including eCom (Shopping Channels) and Retail Orders orchestration, Order Management System (OMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management System (WMS), Enterprise Integration is a plus.
  • Experience with continuous engineering or other agile methods to keep pace with frequent changes and to reduce complexity.
