**Job Title:** Registered Nurse
**Job Specialty:** Cardio Thoracic ICU
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Night, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30)
**Guaranteed Hours:** 48-hour contract
**Experience:** 2 years in a CVICU/CTICU; travel experience preferred
**License:** In-hand preferred, or temporary license process started
**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS via American Heart Association; NIHSS required
**Must-Have:** EPIC proficiency; strong neuro experience required; experience with post brain surgery, EVD, or ventriculostomy
**Job Description:**
- Manage arterial lines, blood product administration, central lines, and PICC line care - Start IVs and administer continuous IV and procedural sedation - Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips - Monitor post-operative CABG adult patients, acute coronary, NSTEMI, STEMI, and CHF patients - Manage dysrhythmias and multi-system organ failure - Work with intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella, and post-cardiac surgery patients - Pre/post cardiac cath/intervention and pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring - Follow IV insulin protocols and manage CVVHD/CRRT, CVA/acute stroke cases - Assist in managing BiPAP, CPAP, ventilated patients, and high-flow nasal cannula - Interpret ABGs, perform suctioning (ETT, NT), and manage ventilators - Ensure infection prevention, isolation precautions, and use of PPE - Handle surgical wounds with drains and wound vacs - Preferred skills: Thermoregulation management, chronic/acute renal failure, accessing ports, external ventricular drains (EVD), and ICP monitoring.
Candidates will care for step-down patients due to the universal bed model. This position includes working on weekdays, every other weekend, and holidays as required by the contract.
