JOB TITLE:

INGREDIENTS WEIGHER

JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:

Employee shall weigh and accurately track lot numbers of material staged, and continuously provide batch pallets of raw materials to the production team for further processing.

Support the review, understanding and compliance of all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System.

This job requires theIngredients Weigher to perform the following tasks:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Check/verify materials and amounts to be weighed per batch formulaAccurately log and track each lot number for all ingredients and document as requiredLegibly prepare label and attach to all ingredients for batches taken to ProductionUse Food Safety procedures & Work instructions to ensure quality productWork well with team members to keep batches available for weekly productionMust accurately track inventory and cycle count as neededPre stages batches, drums, and other containers of raw materials in the batch roomComplete weekly PM's for the ingredient/batch area to comply with OSHA standardsKeep Ingredient area and other locations throughout the plant where ingredients are stored clean and organized and skids properly labeled.Follow Color Code Chart for Use of Allergen/Non Allergen Scoops.Must label and control the placement of ingredients that are Organic/Allergens to comply with proper storage requirements.Cleaning of scales, sinks and work surfaces daily.Performs other duties as needed or assigned by supervisor.

Education Level and Focus:

Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Years and Type of Related Experience Required:

1 year of Food industry and, forklift Experience preferred

Have knowledge of using RF Scanners

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Interpersonal and Communication: Ability to function with minimal supervision including the capacity to learn and follow processing, CIP and sanitation procedures, safety rules and other directives- ability to speak and write English.

Technical and Analytical: Ability to read gauges, labels and instructions, basic math skills and the ability to learn how to operate a forklift

Administrative and Operations:

Ability to complete shift reports accurately, ability to prioritize tasks

Physical Demands: Standing for long periods of time, lifting 50+ lbs. bending, available to work various shifts

Work Environment: Food plant and outside holding areas, high noise levels, wet working environment, extreme hot and cold conditions, forklift traffic, allergens present. This is a Safety Sensitive Position.

Special Equipment Used: Forklift, portable foam unit and high-pressure wash unit, tote pumps, steel totes, scales, and communication radio
