Sr. Staff, Software Engineer (Client Facing, Test Automation, Networking)
Location (HYBRID): Sunnyvale, CA
Juniper Networks is a leading telecommunications equipment vendor building high-performance network products for service providers, enterprises, data centers, campus and metro customers. Juniper routers like MX-series, switches like QFX series, firewalls like SRX series and Software Defined Networking (SDN) controllers like Contrail and NorthStar are used to perform complex network functions in diverse customer networks in roles like the edge services aggregation node in infrastructure telecommunications companies offering mobile and Internet service or the data center edge node connecting private and public clouds.
The software engineering group at Juniper Networks is responsible to design, develop, build, qualify and deliver software and networking products. Along with executive leadership team, the software test engineering group comprises of highly skilled engineers responsible for delivering production grade quality products by validating and qualifying the software and products through automated, agile and adaptive test engineering.
Qualified candidate is responsible for delivering production grade quality products by validating and qualifying the software and products through automated, agile and adaptive test engineering methodologies. The engineer should be well versed with networking technologies, virtualization technologies, and posses strong automation skills.
This role will require you to be a team player, excellent problem solver, and ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. In addition, should have strong background on automation skills.
Responsibilities:
Help test the customer networks - owning design, development, implementation and reporting of end to end testing. This entrains all test best practices implemented at Juniper in efficient test automation frameworkThis would also involve understanding of the feature as in software functional specifications and develop test strategy covering the areas across the customer solutions in certification process.Should be able to delivery automated scripts using agile process and latest techniques.Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute functional level, scale and performance test scenarios using automation.Validate the functional cases across the technology on networking products.Develop expertise in the assigned technology areas.Analyze and root cause software issues identified during execution.Work with teams across geographical locations. Work collaboratively with cross functional teams, architects, and executives.Working closely with Juniper product development and business unit architecture teams to understand product/feature requirements and solutions in alignment with customer business/network priorities.Build strong relationships with the senior leadership to understand the business objectives and translate into project deliverables.Highlight and brainstorm emerging technologies and customer use cases for betterment of the product deliverables.Support in replicating customer found issues and provide root-cause corrective action.Provide proof of concept (POC) to realize a certain customer use case scenario to demonstrate its feasibilityRequirements - Tools & Technologies Skills:
IP / MPLS routingNetwork ServicesUnderstanding of TCP/IP and related protocols such as Ethernet, OSPF, ISIS, L2VPN, L3VPN, GRE, IPSec, NAT, HTTP, NetConf, BGP, MPLS, EVPN-VXLAN, Multicast;Automation programming skills (Python, Perl) network virtualization, containerization, and Software Defined Networking (SDN) knowledge is required.Layer 2 technologies, Spanning Tree, LAG, MC-LAG, Virtual ChassisCLOS Architecture, HA Design Concepts, EVPN, VPLSProven track record and proficiency in Perl/ Python and UNIX is a must.Good skills in automation framework like ROBOT.Expertise in use of networking test equipment like Spirent and Ixia, including automation.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Must possess outstanding problem solving skills in the diagnosis and resolution of customer issues.The candidate must be a self-starter, proactive and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently.Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Salary: $179,200.00
Maximum Salary:$257,600.00
The pay range for this position is expected to be between $179,200.00 and $257,600.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Juniper's pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.

The software engineering group at Juniper Networks is responsible to design, develop, build, qualify and deliver software and networking products.
