We want engineers who are passionate about solving problems and addressing customers' needs. Being a software engineer means balancing the long term technical concerns with the immediate market demands. We want this to be more than just a job for you too-we want it to feel like your company, where you have the power to suggest and enact changes to make something better, even if it has nothing to do with software development.As a software engineer, you will be collaborating with other software engineers, product managers, and UI/UX designers in a cross functional, collaborative environment to innovate in and improve on the product. You'll have opportunities to own the technical planning, implementation, and delivery of impactful features. You will be contributing to the mobile and web applications built with ReactJS and to its associated GraphQL API and backend services built in Elixir with a Postgres database.We'd love to chat if you have:6-10 + years of professional experience working on an Agile software development teamExperience developing SaaS applications in the cloudExperience completing and "shipping" finished products and features in a CI/CD environmentExperience with JavaScript and es6+ best practices/paradigmsPracticed in full stack development with JavaScript and a Server-Side language/frameworkCS Degree, Lambda School graduation certificate, or equivalent experience is requiredCompetencies around planning; defining technical scope and drawing out flow diagrams for architecture before coding takes placeVersed in sound quality assurance principlesEvaluating existing codebases to identify areas that need optimization.Assessing the efficiency of technologies, instrumentation, and reportingCollaborating with the engineering team on prototype developmentInterpreting analytical and performance dataEnsuring compliance with industry standards and secure coding best practicesComprehensive knowledge of engineering processes, application design, and system optimizationProficient analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent collaboration and communication skillsAbility to apply engineering best practices and report on risks, timelines, work done, and deployment risk mitigationDemonstrated ability to lead othersExperience or knowledge with React JS, GraphQL, Emotion JSExperience or knowledge with React Testing Library, CypressExperience or knowledge with Node JSKeeping abreast of developments and innovation in the React and GraphQL communitiesLet's talk about benefits

Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in BILL's bonus and equity plan. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.
