The right candidate will possess a history of driving cross-functional collaboration and working independently in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate comes from a strong financial modeling background, has a passion for improving existing processes, and will participate in developing best-in-class finance practice across the entire AWS organization. The breadth and depth of this roles scope will appeal to candidates with a strong interest in evaluating the financial impact of new technologies and developing subject matter expertise in the inner workings of cloud computing.Key job responsibilities- Serve as the key finance partner supporting Network business leaders, including input on business investment strategies, drive operating leverage, and management of financial planning processes.- Manage and develop scalable financial tools or reports that align and simplify, monthly business reviews, annual planning, and forecasting processes- Identify and lead projects to drive automation and process improvement.- Influence business decisions with data driven analysis and presentation of alternatives through effective verbal and written communication.- Develop business and technology acumen in order to understand technology transitions driving cost reductions.- Perform various ad hoc analyses to assist business leaders in solving complex problems and understand the financial implications.- Establish strong relationships across the Infrastructure and with key business partnersBasic Qualifications- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)Preferred Qualifications- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience- MBA, or CPA- Knowledge of SQL/ETL- 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience- 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experienceAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
