Job Description:

Participate and consistently contribute to planning, design, implementation, verification, deployment, and support activities for aircraft mission management software. May perform task management activities for other software engineers.

This position will manage projects and processes under general supervision to achieve operational targets with moderate impact on departmental results.

Essential Functions:Interact directly with engineering team and program management staff to analyze and understand requirementsTranslate requirements into appropriate technical designsEffectively present technical designs to software engineering, program management, and other team membersImplement requirements into software components and applications according to technical designUnit and component test software components and applications to ensure quality of deliverablesProvide input and effort for the technical verification of all technical, functional and corporate requirements prior to delivery of software components and applicationsInvestigate and address requirement violations in functional testing and production software as neededTrack and report status of tasks, deliverables, and issues to software engineering teamAdhere to corporate processes and standards for all activities and deliverables during all phases of involvement in the software development life cycleEffectively manage multiple task assignmentsMentor less experienced team members as appropriatePerform other appropriate duties as requested, directed, or assignedPerform all job functions with a positive, professional attitudeMinimum Qualifications:

Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent combination of education and work experienceMinimum of 4 years of progressively advanced object oriented commercial or government software development experienceExperience with C# and Visual Studio required (Java experience a potential substitute)Experience with WPF/XAML required for UI development for Windows desktop applicationsProficient knowledge of relevant technologies, software development methodologies, and programming languagesProficient knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of object-oriented design/developmentKnowledge and understanding of regulatory standards impact on software developmentProficient knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of software unit, component, and integration testingProficient knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of source code management and defect trackingAbility to effectively utilize both written and verbal communication skillsAbility to identify complex problems and provide multiple solutionsAbility to understand, create, and communicate complex design specificationsAbility to quickly and effectively breakdown assignments into work tasks and provide effort and schedule estimates and successfully achieve themAbility to use judgment and logic in decision-making considering relative to costs and benefits of potential actionsAbility to promote a corporate ethics and exhibit a spirit of teamwork and cooperation within the organizationUnderstanding and ability to implement Agile and Scrum methodologiesAbility to work in a team environment and highly effective at collaborationAbility to obtain a Secret security clearance, which requires US citizenshipPreferred Skills:
