Overview
Boone Hospital Center, a 392-bed full service hospital in Columbia, Missouri is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Breast Surgery. The candidate for this position will be joining an established clinic focused to improve the health of the people and communities we serve.
Boone is currently a Magnet Hospital for its nursing excellence and has also been named the number one hospital in central Missouri and number five overall hospital in the state by U.S. News and World Report.
Practice Highlights:
Join a dynamic team of four established general surgeons dedicated to enhancing community health. Within practice there is currently a busy breast surgeon and high-risk breast nurse practitioner. Each work closely with the hospital's mammography department and nearby cancer practice to provide comprehensive care to patients.Utilizes a high degree of knowledge, skill, and competence in a specialized area to coordinate, manage and evaluate the delivery of quality patient care.Will join an established and busy colorectal practice of two surgeons that is seated within the Boone General Surgery clinic.Will assist colorectal surgeons during procedures in OR and will see patients in clinic (work-ups, post-ops, clinic procedures).May also work with general surgery team to assist in other surgical cases.Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned.
Responsibilities:
Manages the health care of select patient populations through advanced health assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation.Coordinates the care of select patient populations to ensure promotion of health and wellness through education of patients and families, coordination of services and placing referrals.Assesses development needs of staff and develops and delivers appropriate educational programs to meet staff needs.Develops treatment plans, treats patients with acute problems including illnesses and minor injuries following a predetermined protocol. Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety in this critical role at Boone Health.Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned.About
