The Network Administrator I is an entry-level on-site role responsible for the day-to-day support of a complex network & telecommunications infrastructure, consisting of 80+ sites and 1,600+ users. This position is responsible to deploy, maintain, repair and upgrade in-house network and telecommunications equipment. This role collaborates closely with the Network Team, as directed by the Vice President of Information Services Operations.
Core ResponsibilitiesConfigure, install, support, and upgrade a network and telecommunications infrastructure, consisting of approximately 80 firewalls, 120 switches, 240 access points & 900 phones, with direction and mentorship provided by the Network Team.Network implementation for new locations, moves and building expansions.Perform network & telecommunications firmware & configuration updates.Proactively identify network concerns and bring them to the attention of the VP of IS Operations.Collaborate with vendors for external support of networking and telecommunications systems.Escalate cybersecurity requests and concerns to IS Security Personnel.Maintain and periodically update network technical documentation.Adhere to change control processes & procedures.Create & submit Monthly Reports that identify and articulate key initiatives and accomplishments.Adhere to mandatory abuse reporting laws and FERPA/HIPPA/HITECH requirements.Other duties as required.Qualifications
Associate's Degree in field of Computer Science or related field and 2 years of experience supporting and troubleshooting Information Technology
OR
4 years of experience supporting and troubleshooting Information Technology.After-hours on-call responsibilities.Travel is required. Must have a valid NYS driver's license.Benefits
