Overview
The Studio Photographer is an intermediate level photography position responsible for photographing a variety of retail pieces in studio.A primary focus of this role is providing quality images for use with print and digital marketing and our Ecommerce Operations.This role will occasionally require trips to on-site locations for photo shoots.This position will also assist in the coordination of the day-to-day activities of traffic and production, driving audience engagement and ensuring consistency and brand equity across all channels.This role reports directly to the Creative Director. The Studio Photographer will provide support to the Marketing, Merchandising, and Ecommerce teams.This role requires a high degree of partnership and flexibility to get the job done while serving several departments.The position must process a driven, highly detailed and passionate personality, focused on productivity and quality.This role must be determined to deliver results through continuous improvement of Cavender all-around experience.Studio Photographer is highly visible to internal and external business partners and must operate in a professional manner, representing the Cavender's brand at all times.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport the "Cavender's Culture" and drive our Mission, Vision, and ValuesServe as a strategic partner and key support resource to the companyStyle and photograph product by following brand specific guides to ensure consistency of image composition and lightingPhotograph product according to standardized guidelines for Omni channel usageWhen working on location photoshoots the following duties may be assigned:
Packing gearSetting up and breaking downBacking up files
Optimize and retouch image product files and archive according to studio guides and practicesOther duties as assignedQualifications and Requirements
Bachelor of Arts in Photography, or related field or equivalent work experience3+ Years of photography experience, preferably in a brick and mortar, or Ecommerce environmentConfident using: Mac, PS, Capture One, Color Management, studio lighting, location lighting, and Nikon camera and lensAbility to balance quality and quantity with exceptional attention to detailFlexible during times of changeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environmentMust be hands-on and capable of working independentlyAbility to interpret documentsAssociate must be able to read and understand EnglishAssociate must be able to stay alert during work hours assignedBased in Tyler, TX at our home office; Tyler area residenceAbility to travel to meet the needs of the company, 15% on averagePreferred Skills
Ability to handle confidential materials and matters with maximum discretionDemonstrated success in eliciting cooperation from a wide variety of sourcesFunctional expertise in a blend of Marketing, Ecommerce, Merchandising and the Photography Shop, with the ability to organize and manage the photo shooting and image delivery processAbility to multi-task and work in a dynamic environmentStrong persuasive, encouraging and motivating skillsAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environmentExperience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentWorks with marketing, merchandising, Ecommerce and photography teams to achieve an efficient and consistent process for all product needsComfortable communicating and presenting at all levelsEffectively communicates relevant project information to all necessary people both internally and externallyAbility to transform strategy and direction into actionable plans
