General Summary of PositionThis position is responsible for supporting the Finance Business Partner group and entity CFOs by partnering with leaders outside of Fiscal Services at the local level to develop and deliver strategic finance support to functional and entity leadership (Operations, Nursing, Supply Chain, HR, IT,, etc.) in order to enable the execution of MedStar's greater business strategies. This role serves as a direct connection point to local stakeholders to support a finance-based understanding of operational activity, drivers, risks, challenges and actions required to improve overall operational performance.\r
\rPrimary Duties and ResponsibilitiesAnnual operating budget: Supports the preparation and analysis of the annual operating budget leveraging data to drive key insights and recommendations to senior leadersAnnual capital budget: Assists in the compilation of annual capital priorities and provide key reporting to leadership on capital availability and utilization.Financial planning cycle: Assists in the preparation of the annual long-range financial plan through enhanced analysis and assessment of results.Performance trending and other ad hoc analyses: Utilizes performance trending data to conduct routine and ad-hoc analyses, often looking to proactively identify key issues and opportunities and escalating appropriately to leadership.New business/venture assessment: Supports the build and development of financial models to illustrate the impact of new business models and/or changes to core business.Supporting strategic initiatives and implementation: Orients functional leaders to key financial reports and provides guidance on their use and applicability. Utilizes data-driven insights in support of identifying and implementing process improvement plans.Routine monthly/annual reporting: Actively participates in monthly, quarterly and annual financial close cycles. Serves as liaison between Finance Centers of Excellence and front-line leaders to understand business results, ensuring appropriate data collection & review as well as local operational relationships & insights to articulate issues or concerns with financial performance, and supports ad-hoc analyses.Key business partner to clinical, operational and executive teams: Provides support for ad hoc requests from functional leaders at the local level seeking time sensitive information that is financial in nature. This role relays local needs to central support colleagues to determine whether adjustments are required to recurring data and reporting packages based on requests originating from local teams.Balancing priorities and navigating tight deadlines: Balances multiple deadlines and prioritizes work to ensure deadlines are met.Describing relationship between local and COE: Serves as a primary local liaison to MedStar's Centers of Excellence and Shared Service groups to investigate financial and operational activity requiring operational insight. In addition, the Finance Business Partner communicates the needs of local team members and activity which may impact financial results (e.g., adjustments to standard reports, activity which would trigger a Journal Entry, etc.).

\rMinimum QualificationsEducation
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance or Accounting requiredOne year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

3-4 years in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting required andExperience in collecting and analyzing healthcare data (cost accounting, budget, decision support, productivity, etc.), including financial and management analysis leading to quality improvement preferred
\rLicenses and Certifications
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Upon Hire preferred

This position has a hiring range of $80,995 - $152,027\r
