Our Sales & Merchandising team is knowledgeable on all the brands and products that DW carries and is responsible for receiving customer orders, understanding trends, analyzing selling information, and communicating with customers/buyers to ensure everything is running smoothly with their accounts. Merchandisers resolve order & inventory problems by investigating system and inventory details, identifying alternate means for filing orders and communicating details to all parties.
We are seeking a Sales and Merchandising Assistant to join the team. This role has their hands in a diverse assortment of tasks that support our team to ensure that all customer interactions go smoothly. In addition to four market weeks, we also have many customer-driven and internal stock-driven meetings that take place throughout the year. It is the job of the Assistant to help with setting up the rooms, samples, swatches and other materials in advance of each one, and to take notes during meetings to capture feedback between both parties.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assist Sales Executives with preparation for customer meetings, whether in-person or virtualPrepare and run inventory CADs to send to buyers, via email or USPS/Fed-ExCheck Purchase Orders against worksheets and available inventoryPack, send and track samples and cads to buyers as needed; notify buyer of status with airway billMaintain and organize sample closets; set up showrooms with samplesPrepare inventory reports and analyze sales reports and prepare cads to send buyer's best sellers also prepare emails to sales/design on customer best and worst sellersInput buyer worksheets to place goods on hold (domestic and direct), check P.O.s for accuracy, make changes to orders as needed, handle shortages & extensions, and manage P.O. move-ups or late deliveriesMay be involved in stock meetings virtual or in person and/or private label development meetings with designers, owners, or sales executiveQualifications:
Minimum 1 year of related experience, preferably in wholesale/retail apparel industrySelf-starter attitudeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAttention to detail with solid analytical skillsAbility to prioritize, meet deadlines, and multi-taskStrong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft OfficeMust enjoy working in a cohesive team environment and be able to collaborate with other departments/individualsWorking knowledge of retail math and analytical skillsBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
