Business Developer
responsible for developing relationships with electric utilities, electricity suppliers and virtual power plant operators in the USA. This position will support Sales in identifying the best pathways for monetization of flexibility, work with Product management to design offerings to participate to utilities' flexibility programs and develop deep insights into grids, electricity markets, regulation and utilities' transformation. The position is based in our
San Diego
office with the possibility to work remotely.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Proactively find the right contact points within utility organizations and evangelize V2G benefits for grid operations, utility planning, integration of renewables, balancing and cost optimization, fostering positive relationships.Communicate confidently and effectively with stakeholders at all levels of utilities, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and understanding of utilities' needs.Be the subject matter expert on utilities' flexibility programs, utilities' procurement, interconnection requirements, ecosystem and market designsProvide expert guidance to sales team on available schemes to monetize V2GSupport Product managers with operational product requirements and seamlessly coordinate with the engineering team, ensuring a smooth integration of technical detailsSkilfully negotiate and sign partnership agreements for access to markets, pilots and projects developmentDevelop services and business models for working with players in the utilities, VPP, marketplaces, renewables, storage, charging and electricity retailers ecosystemBe the primary operational point of contact for partners such as electricity suppliers, market platforms or other aggregatorsEnsure link with Energy Governing Institutions (Public Utility Commissions, Energy commissions, system operators, ...) and stay abreast of regulatory developments in Wholesale Market, Grid Service and Demand Response related programs that could open new business opportunitiesRepresent Nuvve in industry associations and oversee consultants while gaining experience with federal, state or local regulations as they relate to the integration of electric vehicles in the power systemQualifications / Skills / Experience / Competencies:
5+ years of experience in electric business and/or electricity market participationExperience or knowledge of energy market fundamentals, asset/portfolio management utilities' organization and core businessExperience working with North American electric utilitiesExperience and knowledge of demand response and incentive programsExperience with energy storage assets is a plusSuccessful at building relationshipsExcellent computer skills including all MS Office 365 applicationsStrong communication skills, written and verbalCompensation/Benefits
