Job Summary:
The Server Rack Assembly Operator is responsible for assembling, configuring, and testing server racks according to technical specifications and production standards. This role involves working with various hardware components, ensuring proper cable management, and performing quality checks to ensure the final product meets performance and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:Rack Assembly: Assemble server racks by installing and securing components such as servers, power supplies, network switches, and other hardware into designated rack slots.Component Installation: Accurately install servers, brackets, fans, power distribution units (PDUs), and other hardware according to engineering blueprints and specifications.Cable Management: Ensure proper cable routing and management within the racks, following organizational standards for neatness, airflow optimization, and accessibility.Quality Inspection: Conduct visual inspections and use measurement tools to ensure components are correctly installed, aligned, and functional. Ensure all hardware is secure and meets quality standards.Testing: Perform basic functional tests on installed components and the overall server rack to ensure proper operation, connectivity, and stability.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, checklists, and test results. Report any issues encountered during assembly to the supervisor or engineering team.Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot minor issues related to the assembly process, such as misalignments, incorrect wiring, or hardware defects.Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in proper working order for assembly tasks.Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with company standards for workplace safety, handling of electronic components, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, engineers, and quality assurance personnel to ensure smooth assembly workflows and address any challenges that arise.Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in electronics, electrical systems, or mechanical assembly is a plus.Experience: Previous experience in assembling server racks, data center hardware, or electronics manufacturing is preferred.PCB Experience is Required.Skills:
Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions, technical drawings, and schematics.Experience with hardware installation, cabling, and server configurations.Basic understanding of electrical systems and components.Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.Strong attention to detail and quality control focus.Basic computer skills for data entry and tracking assembly progress.Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy components (up to [X] lbs.) and server racks.Standing, bending, and working in tight spaces for extended periods.Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle small components and tools.
