We are located in Altamont, NY, and are looking to hire a full-time Electro-Mechanical Assembler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an organized and detail-oriented individual who values customer service and has experience in a manufacturing environment.

We are located in Altamont, NY, and are looking to hire a full-time Electro-Mechanical Assembler to join our team. This position could work on during the regular day shift from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. This position could work on the 2nd shift which would include a 10% salary differential.

Assembler Job Summary: Met Weld is looking to fill an Electrical and Mechanical Assembler position that requires Soldering and Assembly experience with a willingness to learn.

Candidate must be willing to learn, have an electro-mechanical aptitude, ask questions, and adapt to completing different projects in a timely manner. Required to have the ability to understand engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and work instructions.

Assembler Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assembler must read and understand production drawings, assembly instructions, work orders, and sample assemblies. Must also be able to receive verbal instructions regarding duty assignments.
  • Assembler crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
  • Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on chassis panel or printed wiring boards.
  • Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.
  • Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
  • Manufactures cables and wiring harnesses using copper wire, co-axial cable, twin-axial cable, and fiber-optic cable.
  • Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
  • Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to assemblies.
  • Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts and assemblies.
  • Performs online inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.

Experience:

  • 1 - 3 years of Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Soldering experience required.
