IT Network Engineer II (Orchestration/Integration/Automation)
The role of IT Network Orchestration Administrator – DevOps/Automation is responsible for the installation, configuration, and day-to-day administrative tasks required to support network infrastructure operations. This includes the design and implementation network equipment automation solutions, integration, information collection and report development of wired/wireless network and network security infrastructure based on system requirements and advanced troubleshooting of these implementations in a distributed environment.
This is a hands-on operational role with on-call responsibilities, maintaining SLAs for the infrastructure supporting Niagara’s critical business applications hosted in the datacenters and remote manufacturing facilities.
Essential Functions
Leverage orchestration tools like Cisco NSO, DNAC, Ansible, Puppet, etc., to monitor and analyze the performance of existing networks to identify deficiencies and implement optimization strategies for improved network efficiency and end-user experience.
Track record with automating operational procedures using scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell
Experience with integrating enterprise systems using middleware and REST and SOAP APIs
Proficiency in Cisco routing and switching technologies with emphasis on EIGRP and BGP.
Maintain SolarWinds observability platform with hands-on experience on installation, configuration & maintenance of modules like NPM, NCM and NTA.
Document integration architecture
Knowledge of integration with SQL a plus
Software Defined Network Technologies & Concepts a plus
Execute implementation of new systems and upgrades to existing systems.
Execute tasks associated with departmental projects to ensure timely completion.
Provide operational status updates to IT Management team when needed.
Participate in the development of architecture design and integration with existing IT infrastructure.
Monitor and maintain IT environment to ensure SLAs are met, and issues are properly escalated.
Align tactical objectives with other IT departments.
Understand how tactical goals and projects align to departmental budget
