We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Power Design Engineer to join our client's team in Rochester, NY. This is a 100% on-site role with our existing team of Engineers. The Electrical Power Design Engineer role requires expertise in the design of analog and digital technologies, high-power voltage "current " applications, custom instrumentation development. In this role, you will create custom and improve upon designs for integration in diagnostics deployed primarily in scientific research laboratories. Key Responsibilities: Design high-power voltage pulsers and waveform generators for scientific research applications. Develop fast electronics systems to support precise data acquisition and analysis. Design optical and x-ray framing cameras for capturing high-speed events. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate power systems into research equipment. Optimize existing pulser designs for improved performance and reliability. Conduct research and development to advance the state-of-the-art in power electronics. Create custom instrumentation tailored to the specific needs of the scientific research community. Perform circuit simulations and analysis using tools such as PSpice and LTspice. Design high-voltage circuits and PCB layouts to meet project requirements. Utilize knowledge of RF circuits, switching elements, microstrip, transmission lines, analog and digital circuits. Apply control theory principles to enhance the precision and stability of pulser systems. Work with magnetic devices and circuits for specialized applications. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Physics, a related field, or Electrical Engineering. Master's Degree preferred. Minimum of 4 years of experience in designing high-power pulsed systems and switch-mode power electronics. Proficiency in RF circuit design, including experience with transistors, microstrip, and transmission lines. Strong understanding of analog and digital circuits, including signal processing. Expertise in high-voltage circuit design and PCB layout. Experience with simulation tools such as PSpice and LTspice. Familiarity with magnetic devices and circuits. Knowledge of control theory principles and their application. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
