Job Description

BROAD FUNCTIONS:

Involved in implementation new hardware system, administrator and maintain all servers.

To assist and support of company system requirements

Perform systems monitoring and preventive maintenance tasks

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for Maintenance of Server hardware, Server Operating Systems and Application Software.

Detect, diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve system problems.

Conduct performance and capacity monitoring and recommend system improvements and upgrades in virtual server environment.

Perform audits of servers, services and security and take appropriate or necessary actions.

Implement upgrades, repair and fix to Vmware, Microsoft, and Linux system infrastructure.

Administer Microsoft, Linux accounts, permissions and access rights.

Maintain and develop systems documentation using online collaboration tools.

Provide imaginative and practical solutions to the wide range of difficult problems.

Coordinate with global teams to standardize systems operations

Perform assigned work to achieve deliverables committed to organization goals in accordance to this job description and in compliance with work rules and ethics and compliance policies of the Company

Report anomaly or non-compliance in relation to Ethics and Compliance policies of the Company

Report near-miss, close-call and work safety violations in relation to workplace health and safety regulations

Report product / production irregularity, anomaly, defectives in relation to product quality assurance

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any equivalent field.

Minimum with 10 years of overall experience in IT.

Minimum with 5 years of experience as Senior Systems Administrator supporting Vmware vSphere in a large multiple site enterprise environment.

Experience on supporting Vmware Vsphere 8, Microsoft Server OS, Active Directory and/or Redhat/Centos Linux OS.

Hands on experience on HPE ProLiant and Dell PowerEdge Enterprise Server.

Experience on SAN Storages, and vSAN will be an added advantage.

Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in team.

Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities.

Understand current and future business requirements and ongoing IT issues to ensure business success.

Methodical approach to problem solving and resolution.

One or more Microsoft, Linux, Vmware certifications are preferred. VCP will be an added advantage.

Effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences at all levels in an organization.

Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence and emails in English.

Provides status primarily in writing, verbally and graphically as required.

Effectively use online collaboration tools and ticketing system.

Work under general direction and independently determine and develop the best approach to priorities.

Meet assigned task schedules and participate in overall quality review of own and others work.

Lead peers with positive attitude of accomplishment.

Experience using Vmware service

MS window server experience

SCCM patch management

Compensation & Benefits Details

An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.

The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.

You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires, subject to Western Digital’s Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
