Responsibilities
The responsibilities for the position include:
Develop and maintain Drupal websites, focusing on both back-end and front-end development.
Build and configure content types, taxonomies, menus, and other Drupal components.
Implement front-end features using HTML, CSS, SCSS, and JavaScript, ensuring responsive and accessible designs.
Collaborate with designers to convert Figma or Storybook mockups into functional web interfaces.
Integrate and customize contributed and custom Drupal modules to meet client requirements.
Manage website performance and security, with an emphasis on accessibility and compliance with government standards.
Work within Agile teams, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and task tracking using Jira.
Use Git for version control, ensuring consistent workflows and code quality through code reviews and continuous integration (CI/CD) processes.
Participate in ongoing support and feature enhancements for existing Drupal sites, including security updates, bug fixes, and performance improvements.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of related experience, OR a Master’s Degree in a related field.
Experience working with Drupal (Drupal 8-11 preferred) in both site building and module development.
Proficiency in PHP and familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks.
Strong understanding of Git, Composer, and CI/CD practices (preferably using GitHub Actions or similar tools).
Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG), security best practices, and federal agency compliance.
Knowledge of content management workflows and user permissions in Drupal.
Experience with Docker, DDEV, or other containerization/local development tools.
Understanding of SQL databases (MySQL or SQLite) for data management and optimization.
Relevant certifications in Drupal or web development are preferred, but not required.
Skills:
Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capability to work independently and collaboratively.
Excellent time management skills and experience working in Agile environments.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when writing.
