Visit www.ecpi.edu/employment to learn more about how you can help people improve their lives through education.Position SummaryThe Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Concentration Coordinator is a licensed and nationally certified Family Nurse Practitioner with an earned doctorate in nursing.The FNP Concentration Coordinator has responsibility for the overall coordination of the FNP concentration including the education and supervision of students in the online classroom and clinical practice settings. Teaching Participates in evidence-based classroom instruction and oversight of clinical courses.Provides evaluation and feedback on course materials, changes in practice, standards of FNP practice, and student accomplishment of course and program outcomes.Attends college activities such as faculty meetings, graduations, and faculty development workshops.Program Oversight Contributes to the development of the overall MSN program budget; and implements and monitors FNP concentration expenses in compliance with the overall MSN program budget.Assists in recommending, interviewing, orienting, and mentoring faculty for didactic courses and clinical instruction.Contributes to the annual evaluation process for faculty teaching in the FNP concentration.Maintains all program documents in SharePoint.MSN Program Integrity and Accreditation Contributes to, implements, and evaluates the mission, philosophy, program student learning outcomes, course outcomes, and systematic evaluation plan for the concentration on a regular basis.Works closely with the MSN Director to maintain compliance of the FNP concentration with regional and CCNE accreditation standards.Thoroughly understands CCNE and NFT accreditation standards, NONPF core, and population-focused competencies, and maintains FNP concentration records in compliance with those standards.Maintains compliance with state boards of nursing and education regulations related to the FNP concentration and clinical experiences for distance education programs.Collects and analyzes information on the concentration and contributes to reports for the MSN program including the systematic evaluation plan and CCNE documents.Curriculum Chairs the FNP Curriculum subcommittee of the MSN Curriculum Committee and reports on FNP concentration development, implementation, and evaluation at term meetings.Documents data-based decisions and faculty discussions in the FNP Curriculum Meeting Minutes.Collaborates with concentration faculty to design, implement, evaluate, and revise the Family Nurse Practitioner curriculum and scholarly activities as needed.Coordinates the implementation of approved course revisions with the Instructional Design Team.Students Collaborates with Admissions Advisors, Student Success Coordinators, and the MSN Director in the recruitment, retention, and progression of FNP students.Monitors and maintains completion (graduation) rates of 80% or higher in the concentration.Monitors and maintains ANCC or AANP certification rates of 80% or higher in the concentration.Participates in graduation ceremonies.Clinical and Preceptor Management Provides direct support to FNP students in locating clinical preceptors appropriate to the specific clinical course and initiating letters of agreement from preceptors and clinical agencies.Orients preceptors to their roles and responsibilities and retains preceptor documents in SharePoint.Maintains ongoing collaborative relationships with clinical preceptors and sites.Develops new clinical sites and preceptors based on program needs.Verifies that all clinical contracts are current before a student begins clinical at any location.Collects, analyzes, and reports the evaluation of preceptors and clinical sites.Provides feedback to preceptors at the end of each clinical course.Oversees the maintenance of an accurate and current database for each clinical course to include student and preceptor contact information, state regulatory requirements, state boards of nursing requirements, and clinical agreements with facilities.Practice Maintains practice expertise as a FNP, current APRN license, and ANCC or AANP FNP certification with documentation on the annual CV. All MSN faculty must hold a current, unencumbered license to practice registered professional nursing in Virginia or a compact-license state.All nurse practitioner faculty must hold or be eligible to apply for an advanced practice license in the state of Virginia.All MSN faculty part-time or full-time holds an earned doctorate in nursing or related field.All MSN faculty part-time or full-time holds a master's degree in nursing. Experience in program accreditation reporting and site visits. Is competent in online teaching methods that are student-centered and motivational. 2 years of experience coordinating a family nurse practitioner program. Three years of online teaching experience preferred.
