A Day in the Life

Assists in the application of Corporate Security (CS) and SalonCentric diversion mitigation. Advanced use of EIW, Power BI and other monitoring systems such as Cybersource to assess and approve orders and customer accounts. Initiate, report and finalize investigations of customer or employee activity. Acts as liaison, and maintains contact with, customers, store/street/ecommerce teams and senior sales teams regarding customer and/or account concerns, CS protocols and account actions. Generate and customize reports from Analyzer and SAP. Conduct investigative research via web research, customer data and public record databases. Evaluate action demands and solidify recommendations. Review video surveillance for the purpose of diversion identification and policy issues. Conduct field visits to local salons. Purchases and chronicle sample buys of products from unauthorized retailers.

SalonCentric Brand Protection and L’Oreal

SC Brand Protection (SCBP) works directly with L’Oreal Corporate Security Brand Protection team (CS) to maintain guidance and ensure alignment with overall Anti-diversion goals and permissible practices. SCBP utilizes conscientious steps with the understanding of legal sensitivity. SCBP will ensure that any deviation from standard practices, or written policies, be addressed through CS and legal before implementation. Additionally, BP maintains close communication over high risk, large volume accounts. SCBP supports L’Oreal CS with information, reports and details for Anti-Diversion quarterly and annual reporting and any initiatives to identify large scale diversion. SCBP also works with CS to process GPS tracking on high risk shipments and quality assurance at our distribution facilities.

Position Requirements

Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Experience.

Minimum 2 years demonstrated customer service or similar experience.

Previous fraud and/or investigative experience.

Working knowledge of the SAP operating system preferred.

Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word/PowerPoint/Excel and Outlook

Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability required

Able to work independently and collaboratively

Handle difficult or challenging customer and sales associate/consultant communications; and enforce account limits with diplomacy, tact and professionalism.

Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Basic knowledge of salon professional versus retail products, as well as brand knowledge to determine reasonable demand and utilization within the industry.

Knowledge of, and sensitivity to, proper handling of evidence and chain of custody procedures

Must have long-term authorization to work in the U.S.

Position Responsibilities

SalonCentric Brand Protection (SCBP) Analysts are tasked with regular, and often, extensive investigations of customer and employee activity; within all SC sales divisions.

BP analysts actively maintain, customize and standardize several comprehensive monitoring and data systems, designed to facilitate the identification of diversion risk produced by both consumers and employee breaches and activity including; SAP, EIW, Power BI and Cybersource.

Analysts examine company data and systems, social media material, trending and any other cache of information available to identify diversion and it’s sourcing.

Effectively and professionally action and distribute communications to all respective customers, sales associates, senior management and human resource contacts, for confirmed diversion and/or violations of policies and procedures.

Possess a strong knowledge of our product lines and their use.

Demonstrate the ability to navigate the volatile demands of the Corporate Security field; with an acute awareness of PPD and Partner Brand differentials demands and policies.

Process regular field sample buys; both physical and virtual. Ensure their adequate logging and accounting for L’Oreal Corporate Security and their SAMM database.

Utilizing custom built SAP reports to identify issues which are more extensively evaluated via SSRS and ad-hoc EIW reports.

Create and/or collaborate dashboards in programs such as Power BI to aid in effective and efficient identification of activity.

Report statistical data on a daily/weekly/monthly basis as well as on demand. Responsible for creating and filtering canned and ad hoc reports.

Initiate 360° salon reviews with respective sales members, track their progress and finalize resulting data with recommendations to manager.

Conduct field communications to ensure timely actions, account communications and salon reviews are properly and accurately assessed.

Maintaining all regional reporting and historical files, ensuring files are handled with confidentiality and with consideration to the material’s sensitive nature and potential legal consequences.

Contribute, facilitate, initiate and participate in cross-departmental communications, up to and including conference calls, onsite meetings and national conference participations.

Take part in onsite, biannual meetings with L’Oreal CS with required travel.

Advanced knowledge of the L’Oreal Corporate Security video surveillance program, Exaqvision, to review and report on security video footage requests that demonstrate employee and/or customer activity leading to policy concerns or violations.
