Sr. Compliance Coordinator - Decatur, IL

ADM, a global leader in human and animal nutrition and the world’s premier agricultural origination and processing company, has an opening for a Senior Compliance Coordinator based at our Decatur, IL North American Development Products Piloting Facility. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership, direction and guidance regarding H&S standards, systems and permits within a research pilot plant setting. You will collaborate with a diverse group of research personnel, oversee the H&S performance in the facility and lead continuous improvement efforts to meet legal and ADM expectations.

Essential Job Functions

Work closely with plant management team to achieve action plan success. Provide constant and consistent leadership, guidance and mentoring, and public presentation as necessary.

Effective implementation of standardized ADM Health and Safety programs and systems to ensure compliance with company and local requirements.

Develop and present H&S training for new hires and location colleagues as required.

Establish a sustainable H&S improvement culture

Monitor, evaluate and report H&S performance and suggest corrective and preventive actions to further improve performance

Build colleague commitment and enthusiasm for safety through effective leadership and influence.

Lead or have an integral involvement in incident investigations.

Recognizes hazards, conducts risk assessments and recommend controls and actions

Manages all health & safety reporting requirements

Act as a champion and mentor for colleague safety engagement that comes in many forms including behavior based safety.

Manage and provide oversight of injured colleague cases.

Manages, plans, implements, and continuously improves the site Sphera, Gemini, ERL and other tracking systems

Manages the site emergency response and asbestos management programs

Strong aptitude for the Management of Change (MOC) process

Maintain Iso 9001:2015 certification

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

2+ Years work experience in an environmental, health and safety position required

Job Requirements

Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to lead, coach, build consensus and public presentation ability

Ability to write standard operating procedures and programs

Proven leadership skills demonstrated by experience

Proven ability to work effectively and enthusiastically on a team

Analytical problem solving and root cause analysis skills

Effective use of Microsoft office applications and database systems
